So it begins

Trying out this new project -- 101 things to do in 1001 days. I've enjoyed myself composing this list, now let's see if I enjoy myself crossing things off of it!

I got the idea from Morgoid through Audra Williams. The main point of the exercise for me is to do some goal setting and some mid-to-long term planning.

Here are my goals, also repeated on the right:

101 in 1001
  1. Visit New Mexico.
  2. Visit the Okanagan.
  3. Go back to the Royal Ontario Museum...with more time to spend.
  4. Go camping.
  5. Fix my foot.
  6. Drive around the Cabot Trail.
  7. Go back to school and/or find a career I like.
  8. Go SCUBA diving.
  9. Hike to the top of a mountain and watch the stars.
  10. Pay off my Visa and overdraft.
  11. Ride a horse.
  12. Watch the sun rise on a beach.
  13. Have a really great rockabilly party.
  14. Eat an apple right off the tree.
  15. Go back to vegetarianism.
  16. Go to Smiley's Creek to look at the autumn leaves.
  17. Bake a pie from scratch.
  18. Learn to play five guitar songs well enough to perform for others.
  19. Go kayaking.
  20. Go canoeing.
  21. Cook a deliciously fancy multi-course meal for my friends.
  22. Bake a loaf of bread.
  23. Go spelunking. And hopefully meet a BAT!
  24. Ride on a big scary roller-coaster.
  25. Learn how to make soups.
  26. Watch 30 of AFI's top 100 movies, including the top 10.
  27. Contribute to Kiva.org.
  28. Buy or otherwise legitimately acquire a piece of art.
  29. Go on a beautiful picnic with great food.
  30. Sing a song at Karaoke.
  31. Clean my room and organize every single last little thing in it.
  32. See a whale (in person).
  33. Go sailing.
  34. Make and send a beautiful gift to my three college gal pals: Meghan, Angelina, and Sarah.
  35. Go on a 100km bike trip.
  36. Somehow acquire and fix up a camper or old motorhome.
  37. Host an evening tea where we read through a play.
  38. Write another kids' book.
  39. Submit my best book to a publisher (finally!).
  40. Get a volunteer job that involves teaching or reading to kids.
  41. Go skinny dipping.
  42. Watch sea creatures in tidal pools.
  43. Go to a bonfire.
  44. Have or attend a corn-boil.
  45. Make something out of clay.
  46. Surround myself at home with color and fun things.
  47. Get myself a bouquet of gorgeous flowers.
  48. Pare my books down to two bookcases' worth.
  49. Go back to the library.
  50. Visit Cuba.
  51. Plant a tree or ten.
  52. Plant fall bulbs to enjoy in the spring.
  53. Go to McNab's Island or whichever island you can take a boat out to.
  54. Go on a South Shore Frenchy's tour again.
  55. Do yoga twice a week for at least a month.
  56. Move into an apartment with a deck.
  57. Make a nice big sand sculpture.
  58. Make up a delicious fruity cocktail and name it after myself.
  59. Eat smoothies at least twice a week for a month.
  60. Eat one vegan supper, lunch, and breakfast a week for a month.
  61. Visit a working farm.
  62. Learn how to do minor/easy car repairs.
  63. Go to an exhibition! The farm kind.
  64. Make something out of wood.
  65. Throw a really great Motown/Tamla party.
  66. Bring someone flowers.
  67. Go to an open-air cultural event...play or concert.
  68. Go tubing!
  69. Go white-water rafting.
  70. Drive, or at least sit in, a wonderful classic car.
  71. Be a film extra!
  72. Get my portrait done or my picture taken for art purposes.
  73. Lose ten pounds (I know it's lame, but my blood pressure is still high!)
  74. Contribute faithfully to my RSP.
  75. Get involved in city planning.
  76. Learn how to speak better Spanish. No me recuerdo mucho ahora!
  77. Go to a park, any park, at least once a week for a month.
  78. Hitch a ride on a motorcycle!
  79. Stay in a cottage on a lake.
  80. Do a beach clean up.
  81. Go swimming in a lake.
  82. Sing in Messiah from Scratch again.
  83. Stay in my budget for Christmas presents for once.
  84. Write, and stage a semi-public reading of, a funny, rhyming poem.
  85. Wander alone through the streets of a new city, or a new neighbourhood in an old city.
  86. Fire a gun.
  87. Make some huge bubbles with string and coat hangers.
  88. Sit in a hot tub in the winter. And roll around in the snow if there is any.
  89. Dress up in formal attire to do something decidedly unformal, like go for coffee.
  90. Take, print out, frame, and hang, a series of fun photos.
  91. Have another CD exchange, either in person or through the mail.
  92. Get a shoulder/neck massage.
  93. Make my living space a gorgeous, fun, welcoming place that people compliment when they come in.
  94. Read a book on hosting etiquette and so on, put at least 10 recommendations into place.
  95. Go to a Unitarian service, drag a friend along.
  96. Build a snow sculpture.
  97. Listen to classical music when cooking dinner.
  98. Sing along to an opera.
  99. FINALLY see the Rocky Horror Picture Show, preferably at Hallowe'en.
  100. Give meditation a serious try.
  101. Learn how to drive standard.
